Letter to Church Leaders

Dear Church Leader

Re: Invitation to join us EVERY SUNDAY to pray for South Africa

We greet you in the name of our saviour and lord, Jesus Christ!

The current situation in South Africa is dire. With chaotic scenes in parliament, unprecedented and brazen corruption, an education system in crisis, one of the highest violent crime rates in the world, attacks on farmers and foreign nationals and many other problems too numerous to mention, our country needs our prayer.

Our understanding from Scripture is: that in times of crisis, all believers should come together to humbly petition God in prayer.

We would therefore ask that you carefully consider the following invitation, to see it resonates with what the Spirit of God is saying to your congregation. If you feel so led, please would you join us EVERY SUNDAY, for a three minutes of prayer and humility for South Africa? We would ask that during this time you would take your congregation through the steps set out in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

We are a small handful of friends who desire to see our land healed and God glorified in the process! We have no political or theological affiliation and so you would not be aligning your congregation or denomination with anything that is against your belief system.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter!

Kind regards,

The Governing Board of Prayer for a Crime Free South Africa
